If the groom and the bride are paying for the wedding themselves, simply thank them for inviting you and all the people.

At first it can be a really challenging task to write a best man toast – often you have to stand in front of a big crowd at the wedding, and people really expect the best man speech to be moving, funny and ofcourse – for the single bridesmaids – you have to be a bit charming, if you are a bachelor. ;-)
