Let’s jump right to it; in this post you will get 5 golden tips to write the ultimate Best Man Wedding Toast, that everyone will remember and talk about for a long time. These tips will hopefully give you a good idea about how to write your wedding speech and what to include, so you make the bride, groom and all the guests happy at the wedding.

Tip 1: The beginning
This is so important for your wedding toast; begin by introducing yourself. Make sure you tell everybody shortly who you are, and how you are related to the groom. Start by telling this, because truth be told; if you are at a big wedding, a lot of people might not know you, and they don’t know how you are related to the groom. This is a good way to start.

Tip 2: Be careful with humor
Now this is an important part of your wedding speech; make people laugh. But be very careful with this, and don’t over-do it – it can easily go very wrong if you embarrass or humiliate the groom, bride or wedding guests. Make a few jokes, but keep its sober. Remember there are kids, grandparents and a lot of important guests at the wedding.

Tip 3: Compliment the bride
Make sure that you have compliments enough for the bride in your speech. Don’t be too “flirty”, hit on the bride or anything; but make sure to state how lucky she is.

Tip 4: Speak on behalf of the groom
Remember that the day is all about the newly-weds. As a best man, you also speak on behalf of the groom in your toast, and the guests will judge the groom on your behavior. Make sure to keep the toast clean, sober and funny.

Tip 5: Be a bit nostalgic
This is truly a killer-tip; be nostalgic in your speech. This is what moves people, and if you can find a funny childhood story, or some funny and cozy story from the beginning of the relationship between the newly-weds, this will be a big hit in your toast. State how long you have known the groom, and maybe some of the funny things you have done together – but again, keep it clean and don’t offend the guests.
